Why it matters

Why workplace temperature matters to your business

Under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992, employers must keep indoor temperatures “reasonable”. There’s no legal maximum, but an office at 28°C quickly shows up in lost concentration, more mistakes and unhappy staff. Customer-facing businesses feel it too: shoppers leave stuffy stores sooner, and diners notice a hot restaurant.

A correctly designed commercial system also protects the things that keep you trading — servers, comms cabinets, refrigerated displays and stock that doesn’t like heat or humidity.

Sectors

Air conditioning for every type of commercial premises

Offices and co-working spaces

Open-plan floors, meeting rooms and private offices with individual zone control so one hot room doesn’t dictate the whole floor.

Shops and showrooms

Comfortable customers, protected stock and discreet equipment that doesn’t distract from your displays.

Restaurants, cafés and pubs

Systems sized for kitchens and busy dining rooms, with filters that cope with grease-laden air.

Salons, clinics and studios

Steady temperatures for treatments and appointments, plus quiet operation in consulting rooms.

Server and comms rooms

Dedicated cooling that runs year-round, with options for back-up units to protect critical equipment.

Workshops and light industrial units

Cooling and heating for production areas, mezzanine offices and staff welfare spaces.

Project delivery

How a commercial air conditioning project works

Site survey & heat load

We assess occupancy, equipment, glazing and usage to calculate the cooling each zone needs.

Design & fixed proposal

You receive a clear specification, equipment schedule and fixed price for approval.

Scheduled around you

Work is planned for evenings, weekends or quiet periods to avoid disruption.

Commissioning & handover

We test every zone, set up controls and hand over documentation and F-gas records.

Planned maintenance

An agreed service schedule keeps the system efficient, compliant and reliable.

Equipment

Choosing the right system for commercial spaces

Commercial buildings place different demands on air conditioning than homes do: longer running hours, higher occupancy and heat from equipment. The right choice depends on your ceilings, layout and how much flexibility you need.

Ceiling cassettes for open-plan floors

Ceiling cassettes sit within a suspended ceiling grid and push air in four directions, giving even coverage across offices, shops and restaurants without using wall space.

Concealed ducted units for a clean finish

For boardrooms, receptions and premium fit-outs, ducted air conditioning hides the equipment above the ceiling and supplies air through linear grilles.

Wall-mounted and multi-split for smaller premises

Small offices, treatment rooms and shop back-of-house areas are often best served by wall-mounted units or a multi-split system running several rooms from one condenser.

VRF/VRV systems for larger buildings

Where many zones need simultaneous control — or some rooms need heating while others need cooling — a variable refrigerant flow (VRF) system connects dozens of indoor units to centralised outdoor plant. We’ll tell you honestly whether your building needs one.

Business owners ask

Commercial air conditioning costs, compliance and timing

How much does commercial air conditioning cost?

Costs scale with floor area, the number of zones, ceiling type and access. A single office or shop unit is comparable to a domestic installation; multi-zone and VRF projects are priced individually after a survey. We provide a fixed, itemised proposal so you can budget with certainty.

Can the installation happen outside business hours?

Yes. Evening and weekend working is common for our commercial clients, so staff and customers aren’t disrupted and you don’t lose trading time.

What maintenance is a business legally responsible for?

Systems containing refrigerant above set thresholds need regular F-gas leak checks and records, and air conditioning with an effective rated output over 12kW needs a TM44 energy inspection at least every five years. Our maintenance plans keep you on track.

Can you work with our existing equipment?

Often, yes. We can survey, service and repair existing systems, and advise when replacing old or inefficient plant would cost less than keeping it running.
